OK, you’re pregnant and want to capture this exciting moment when you’re literally growing a human being inside of you. So, when’s the best time to do a photoshoot? What should you wear? And what locations are the most ideal?
Generally, photographers recommend the best time to take maternity photos is between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy (when the belly is nice and round, but you’re not so uncomfortable you can hardly stand up straight). As for what to wear, lighter colors tend to accentuate the baby bump more — which is what these photos are really all about, right? — but that still depends on the skin tone, lighting and background.
With these pregnancy photoshoot guidelines in mind, we gathered some truly unique maternity photos to offer you some inspiration on looks and places to shoot.
