As a wife and a mother, who hadn’t dated for a significant period of time, I admittedly stopped worrying much about my appearance. I had a husband who liked the way I looked. Plus, I had a busy life as a work-at-home mom. Most days, I wouldn’t change out of my workout clothes and didn’t give it a second thought. Shaving my legs was optional, and I usually chose not to do it. And makeup was pretty much the last thing on my to-do list, unless I had some exceedingly rare night out on the calendar.
But once I became a single mother after my husband and I separated about a year ago, I didn’t feel quite as confident going out into the dating world with my uber-low-key mom style. Suddenly, I had the desire to put a little more time into how I presented myself to, not just dating prospects, but the world. I had settled in so much that I’d forgotten that it actually feels good to invest in yourself, too. And not just in your appearance, but in your overall wellness and mental health.
Here are a few products that I recommend for all single moms (or really all moms) looking to get their groove back.
