Did Prince Harry Really Hit Prince Andrew Over Meghan? The Duke Responds
There’s a new royal story making the rounds, one that brings two familiar figures back into the spotlight for reasons no one predicted. It has family drama, old wounds, and comes in a brand-new book with some serious allegations. It all sounds pretty wild, but a fresh set of denials from one of the princes has us all wondering what really happened. Let’s find out what it’s all about.
The Book’s Storyline

The book is named Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, and it doesn’t hold back. It paints a picture of long-standing tension, with Andrew supposedly making offhand remarks about Meghan behind Harry’s back. The author says things escalated when Harry confronted his uncle, accusing him of being too cowardly to say it to his face.
Punches were allegedly thrown, and Andrew’s nose was allegedly bloodied. The whole thing had to be broken up before it turned worse. This incident was revealed with specifics of the year, the nature of the argument, and even the insult.
Meghan, according to the excerpt, was called an “opportunist,” and Andrew was said to have warned that the marriage wouldn’t last. For royal watchers used to coded language and polite silence, this was a different flavor entirely. But the response from Harry’s side was fast, firm, and legal.
Harry Responds, Then Doubles Down
A spokesperson for Prince Harry didn’t entertain the claims. “I can confirm Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry,” the statement read.
As expected, a legal letter was sent to the Daily Mail, which first published excerpts and labeled the claims “gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory.” The denial drew a thick line between what’s in the book and what Harry’s team is willing to accept. For a family often known for brushing off press stories, the formal response added weight.
Royal Context

If we’re being honest, the story sounds plausible. For over a decade, the royal family has been the site of rivalries, private disagreements, and sometimes full-on public breakups. Since stepping back in 2020, Harry and Meghan have lived in California and mostly communicated with the palace through statements or, in some cases, lawsuits.
The frost between Harry and his relatives didn’t begin with this book, and it won’t thaw because of it. Prince Andrew, meanwhile, remains a complicated figure. Following years of fallout from his association with Jeffrey Epstein, he’s no longer active in royal public life. His home at Royal Lodge has stirred separate headlines, with reports suggesting Prince William has pushed for him to leave. Those rumors haven’t disappeared, and the tension they reveal adds another layer to how this new book is being received.
Old Patterns, New Claims
This isn’t the first time Prince Harry has been linked to family conflict. In his 2023 memoir Spare, he detailed a confrontation with Prince William. That scene involved a ripped necklace, a broken dog bowl, and a shove hard enough to leave him on the floor.
Harry himself told that story. This one, involving Andrew, comes from someone outside the family and quotes unnamed sources. The difference is in the denial. Harry didn’t flinch when telling his own version about William, but this time, with Andrew, he’s pushed back hard. His team isn’t suggesting that the entire thing didn’t happen.
The alleged fight is said to have happened in 2013, three years before Harry and Meghan met. This raises the obvious question: Why would Andrew comment on Meghan so far ahead of time?
The book suggests that some remarks came later, such as Andrew doubting the relationship and sharing those thoughts more than once. But with no dates and no on-the-record witnesses, lawyers may have a field day with this one. It doesn’t help that Entitled drops in the middle of renewed attention on the royal family’s internal fractures. And with so much of it leaning on anonymous quotes, it becomes tricky to weigh what’s meaningful versus what’s being packaged for sale.
Where Things Stand Now

Harry and Meghan remain in Montecito while raising their two children and staying far from the day-to-day workings of the monarchy. Public appearances have been less frequent, just as interviews have quieted. But recent reports suggest Harry has made overtures to “deconflict” with his family by sharing his personal schedule with Buckingham Palace and reaching out to both his father and brother’s teams.
Those efforts haven’t reset the dynamic. According to reports, the King remains cautious. The Prince and Princess of Wales haven’t spoken publicly about reconciliation, but Harry’s tone has softened. In May, he told the BBC he would like to repair things. “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he said. The line felt like it belonged to someone ready to stop throwing punches—literal or otherwise.
